Upper lip, chin and sideburns: Martindale's usual first booking

Martindale was established in 1983 and had about 14,500 residents in the 2021 Census. More than half have South Asian heritage, and Punjabi is the first language for nearly a third of residents. Many women here have threaded their upper lip, chin or sideburns every couple of weeks since their teens. That is exactly why face laser is where so many Martindale clients start.

Face hair is often coarse and dark, which is what laser targets best. Over a series of sessions about four to six weeks apart, regrowth becomes finer and sparser, and many clients go from threading every two weeks to occasional touch-ups. Upper lip is $25 per session, chin is $25, sideburns $35 and full face $85. Eyebrow threading stays at $10, because we never laser the brows.

Hormonal changes can bring new hair growth at any age, so we are straightforward about maintenance. Some clients need an occasional top-up session each year, and we would rather say so at the consultation than sell a promise.

The Candela GentleMax Pro's Nd:YAG setting is designed for deeper skin tones. The women-exclusive setting also means you can take off your dupatta or hijab in privacy.

Martindale questions

How do I get to the clinic from Martindale?

+

Martindale Drive NE to Saddletowne Circle, then north on 60 Street NE and Cornerstone Drive NE to Cornerstone Boulevard. It is about 6.7 km, roughly 11 minutes in light traffic (approx.).

Is laser better than threading for my upper lip and chin?

+

Threading removes hair for a couple of weeks at a time. Laser reduces regrowth over a series of sessions, so you thread much less often. Many clients laser the chin and lip and keep threading only for eyebrow shaping.

Do I have to stop threading before face laser?

+

Yes. Stop threading, waxing and tweezing the laser areas for about four weeks beforehand, because the laser needs the root. You can shave or trim in between.

Can I cover my hair during the appointment?

+

Of course. The clinic is women-exclusive, and your technician will simply work around your head covering for face treatments.
