The short answer: a package is worth it when it matches how laser actually works. Most areas need several sessions, weeks apart, so a package can make a full course simpler. But the terms matter more than the headline. How many sessions, how long you have, when you pay and what happens if you need more are what decide whether a package suits you. Here are the eight questions to ask any clinic before you buy, and how we answer them ourselves.

Package or Pay Per Session?
Laser hair removal is a course, not a single appointment. The American Academy of Dermatology notes that it can take 6 sessions or more, spaced weeks apart. Our guide to how many laser sessions you need goes area by area. So the real question isn't whether you'll book several sessions, it's how you want to book them.
Paying per session suits you if…
- ●You're new to laser and want to see how your skin and hair respond first
- ●You're treating a small touch-up area
- ●Your schedule over the next year is uncertain
A package suits you if…
- ●Your consultation confirmed you're a good candidate
- ●You know you want a full course on that area
- ●You can keep a steady rhythm of sessions every 4 to 8 weeks

8 Questions to Ask Before You Buy
These work at any clinic, including ours. A good clinic will be happy to answer every one of them before you pay.
1. How many sessions are included, and is that realistic for my area?
Laser only treats hair in its active growth phase, and only part of your hair is in that phase at any visit. That's why most body areas need 6 or more sessions. Facial hair driven by hormones often needs more, plus occasional maintenance. A package that's too short leaves you paying again before you see the result you wanted.
2. When does it expire?
Sessions are spaced 4 to 8 weeks apart, so a full course takes months. Work out the timeline yourself: if the expiry only just covers the course on paper, one missed appointment can cost you a session. Ask for the expiry date in writing.
3. How much do I pay, and when?
Some packages are paid in full on day one, others are paid as you go. Know exactly how much you're paying for sessions you haven't had yet, and whether any of it can be refunded if you stop.
4. What happens if I need more sessions?
Ask what a session costs after the package ends. A clear per-session price is easier to plan around than a new package you have to buy just to finish.
5. Can I transfer it, share it or switch areas?
Most packages belong to one person and one area. If you're hoping to move unused sessions to a friend, a sister or a different area, ask first rather than assume.
6. Which device do you use, and is it right for my skin tone?
The device matters as much as the price. Ask the clinic to name it, and ask how they treat your skin tone. Medium to deep skin is usually treated with a longer wavelength such as the 1064 nm Nd:YAG.
7. Who treats me, and do I get a consultation or patch test first?
You should meet the clinic, have your skin and hair assessed, and know who will be doing your treatments before you commit to several months of sessions.
8. Is everything in writing?
Expiry, payment timing, what happens if you stop, and what counts as one session should all be in writing. Your rights on prepaid services also depend on your written agreement and your province's consumer rules.
What to Watch For
Most clinics are clear about their terms. Still, a few things are worth slowing down for, wherever you book:
- ●Pressure to decide on the spot. A package is a months-long commitment. You should be able to take the terms home and think about it.
- ●Promises that only exist out loud. If you were told the sessions never expire, or that you can switch areas later, ask to see it in writing.
- ●A package before a consultation. Your skin and hair should be assessed before you commit to a full course.
- ●No device named. If no one can tell you what will be used on your skin, ask before you book.

An honest guide should say when a package isn't the right first step:
- ●Very light hair. Laser targets pigment in the hair, so white, grey, light blonde and red hair usually respond poorly. Your technician will tell you honestly at your consultation.
- ●Hormonal hair you haven't looked into. If new or increasing facial hair is part of the picture, a doctor's check is worth doing. Our PCOS laser hair removal page explains why.
- ●Pregnancy, or planning one soon. Read our guide to laser during pregnancy and breastfeeding and talk to us before you start a course.
- ●Full body. At $499 for all 16 areas, full body is already our all-inclusive value, so it's priced per session rather than as a package.
Not sure yet? A $10 consultation is credited toward your first treatment, and you can decide on a package once you know laser suits you.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are laser hair removal packages worth it?
+
They can be, if three things are true: laser suits your hair and skin, the package covers a realistic number of sessions for your area, and the terms give you enough time to finish. Most body areas need 6 or more sessions spaced weeks apart, so a package that matches that course can be simpler than booking one session at a time. A package with a short expiry, unclear terms or too few sessions is not worth it at any price.
Is it better to buy a laser package or pay per session?
+
Paying per session is the safer choice while you're still finding out whether laser works for you. Once your consultation and first sessions confirm you're a good candidate and you know you'll finish a full course, a package usually makes more sense, because most areas need several sessions either way.
How long should a laser hair removal package last before it expires?
+
Long enough to finish comfortably. Sessions are usually spaced 4 to 8 weeks apart, and body areas often sit at the longer end, so 7 sessions can take a year or more. Look for an expiry that leaves room for a missed appointment, a holiday or a busy season. Our Laser Packages are valid for 18 months.
What happens if I still have hair after my package is finished?
+
Some areas, especially facial hair linked to hormones, often need more than the typical course, and the American Academy of Dermatology notes that treatment can be repeated when hair regrows. Ask before you buy what extra sessions cost. At Lavish Beauty, any session after your package is simply our regular per-session price for that area.
Can I share or transfer a laser package?
+
It depends on the clinic, so ask before you pay. Packages are usually tied to one person and one area. Our Laser Packages are non-transferable and each area is its own package.
How does the Lavish Beauty Laser Package work?
+
On every laser area except full body, buy 6 sessions and your 7th is free. You pay for your 1st and 6th sessions at your first visit, then sessions 2 to 5 as you go, each at the regular per-session price. Use all 7 within 18 months. Packages are non-transferable and can't be combined with member discounts.
